For visitors at TriStar Horizon Medical Center

Visitors to TriStar Horizon Medical Center can find information on visitor policies, hours and amenities for the main hospital, as well as info for our acute rehab, intensive care units and The Women's Pavilion.

Visitor policy

  • Patients are permitted two visitors in the building at a time.
    • We encourage visitors to coordinate their visits to prevent large groups from gathering in the cafeteria, lobbies, waiting rooms or other areas.
  • No visitors under the age of 12.*

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.

Information for our visitors

This information is designed to answer some of the most frequently asked questions of our visitors.

General guidelines

  • Visitors with colds or experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat), or with any contagious disease should not visit hospitalized patients.
  • Only two visitors are allowed in the room at one time.
  • Visitors should maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the hospital campus, both inside and outside of buildings.

Visiting hours

Our general visiting hours are 9:00am until 9:00pm. Our Specialty Units have visiting hours as follows:

The Women's Pavilion

Family and friends visitation is set by the patient's attending physician or nurse/midwife. Siblings under 12 may visit if accompanied by an adult family member.

Acute rehab unit:

Monday - Friday: 5:00–9:00pm

Weekends: 11:00am–9:00pm

Please check with the nursing staff regarding patient's therapy schedule. Please notify the nursing staff when someone will be spending the night. Rolling cots are available for family members who stay overnight.

Intensive care

Because our ICU patients require a much higher level of care, policies differ from other areas of the hospital. Occasionally, our nurses may have to ask visitors to step out during regular visiting hours so we may provide the highest level of care to our patient. While we believe family and friends are essential to the healing process, please remember that caring for our patient is our top priority.

ICU visiting hours

  • 24/7 open visitation
  • Restricted to two (2) people at a time
  • Must be at least 13 years of age.

Parking

Visitor parking is located in front of the hospital, to the right of the East Pavilion, and in the parking lot beside the Emergency Department entrance. Please don't leave valuables in your car unattended and be sure to lock up when you leave the automobile.
